Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern the use of the Laki application (the "App"). By installing or using Laki you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. Who provides Laki

Laki is developed and maintained by Hernán Anabalón. Contact: contacto@laki-app.com.

2. What Laki is

Laki is a mobile application that helps partners or families coordinate their pets' medications. It lets you record treatments, schedule local reminders, and keep the history of who gave each dose.

3. Your account

• Laki uses anonymous authentication: you don't create a user with email or password.
• You're responsible for keeping access to your device. If you lose the device, you lose access to your session.
• You're responsible for the truthfulness and accuracy of the information you enter (names, doses, schedules).
• You can delete your account and all your data from Settings → "Delete my account" at any time.

4. Acceptable use

By using Laki, you agree NOT to:

• Use the App for illegal purposes or to harm others.
• Attempt to access groups or data that aren't yours.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App's source code.
• Deliberately overload the infrastructure (mass scraping, DoS attacks, quota abuse).
• Use the App to impersonate another person.
• Upload illegal or offensive content, or content that violates third-party rights.

5. About the content you upload

• The content you upload (pet names, photos, treatments) remains yours.
• You grant us a limited license to store and display it within your group, for the sole purpose of making the App work.
• You're responsible for the content you upload. We don't review or moderate group content.

6. Limitation of liability — IMPORTANT

6.1 Laki is not a medical service

Laki is an organization tool. It doesn't diagnose illnesses, doesn't prescribe medications, doesn't replace veterinary consultation. You enter the treatment information yourself and it reflects only what has been entered.

6.2 Reminders and notifications

We do what's reasonable for reminders to fire on time, but we don't guarantee their delivery. Notifications depend on your device, operating system, granted permissions, battery-saver mode, and other variables outside our control. Do not rely solely on Laki for critical treatments.

6.3 Availability

Laki is provided "as is" and "as available". We may interrupt, modify, or discontinue the service (in whole or in part) at any time, without prior notice.

6.4 Limitation of damages

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Laki and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to harm to your pet, data loss, or errors in medication administration.

7. Intellectual property

The name "Laki", the logo, the design, the source code, and all visual elements of the App are the developer's property. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without written authorization.

8. Third-party services

Laki uses third-party services to work (Google's Firebase, Expo). Using the App also implies accepting those providers' terms of service where applicable. We're not responsible for failures, interruptions, or policy changes of those services.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. If we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. For substantial changes, we'll notify you within the App. Continued use of Laki after the changes implies acceptance of the new version.

10. Termination

You can stop using Laki and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if the operation of the service requires it.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws in force in the developer's country of residence, without prejudice to the consumer's non-waivable rights in your jurisdiction.
