What's new in Laki

The app is smaller and starts a little faster. Nothing you see or use has changed.

• Improved Lighter. We changed how the app is packaged for Android: it downloads smaller, takes less room on your phone and usually opens a little sooner. Inside it is the same version as before, with the same screens and the same data.

The app no longer removes you from your group because of stale data on the phone, and if something signs you out you get back in without reinstalling. A device that no longer has the app is now visible, and you can report a problem from Settings.

• Fixed It no longer removes you from your group by mistake. A stale piece of data on the phone was enough for the app to tell you that you had been removed and sign you out, even though you were still in the group. It now asks the server first: if you are still a member it fixes it silently, and it only tells you when somebody really removed you. With no connection it assumes nothing and waits.
• Fixed And if something does sign you out, you get back in. The app used to sit loading forever, and neither "Retry" nor "Start fresh" helped: the only way out was to uninstall it and lose your group. It now starts over on its own and takes you where you belong.
• New A device that no longer has the app is visible. Settings, Group, Devices now shows since when it has been gone. And if that device was the one managing the group, the role moves on its own to somebody who is still there, so nobody is left unable to invite or manage.
• New Report a problem from Settings. It opens the support form with your app version and phone model already filled in, so you don't have to look them up.
• Improved When an update is required, the app says why. The update screen explains the reason and links to this page, in your language, so you can see what changed.

Up to four caregivers per group, an activity log with everything that happened while you were away, one-off and as-needed doses, and schedule changes that never rewrite the past.

• New Group activity. The bell on Today opens a log of what happened while you were away: who gave each dose, which treatment was added or reactivated, who joined the group. The counter on the bell says how much you have not seen yet and clears when you open it.
• New Up to four caregivers per group. It used to be two. They join with the same invite code as always.
• New One-off and as-needed doses. A medication can be "Once" (a single dose, at the time you choose) or "As needed" (no schedule: you record it with a button when it is due). The frequency is now picked from a list of cards, with each option explained right there.
• New Reactivate a finished treatment. It becomes active again from today, with all its history. If its end date was in the past, it becomes open-ended so you can adjust it.
• New Change the schedule or the dose without touching the past. Like a recurring calendar event: the change applies from that moment on, and the doses already given stay exactly as they were. The app confirms before applying it, and the other caregivers get a notification with the new schedule.
• Improved An overdue dose no longer hides the next one. Once the next dose is closer than the one that was missed, the late one is recorded as not given and Today shows the one that is coming. It is the rule on the leaflet: if it is almost time for the next dose, do not double up. From the history you can fix it with "Gave it late", or note "Did not give it" under your name.
• Improved Notices go away on their own. The "marked doses while you were away" notice fades a few seconds after you have seen it, and opening the app clears its notifications from the tray. Dose reminders stay until the dose is resolved.
• Improved The calendar opens on the day. And the day's hours show a.m. and p.m., so nobody hesitates between nine in the morning and nine at night.
• Improved Undo from the pill above the bar (iPhone). After marking a dose, the next-dose pill offers undo for a few seconds. You can also swipe it away, and it no longer shows on Today, where the card already says it.
• Fixed Two phones can no longer record the same dose twice. If both marked it at the same time, two records were kept. The second one is now rejected.
• Fixed A one-day treatment produced zero doses. Choosing the same start and end date left the treatment invisible. The end date now covers the whole day.
• Fixed Clear messages when joining a group. "The group is full" and "You already belong to another group" are two different messages. If you reinstalled the app and your spot is still taken by your old phone, you can send the steps to free it over WhatsApp to whoever manages the group.
• Improved Joining a group goes through our server. With an invite code nothing about the group can be seen until you are in: not its name, not its members.
• Fixed No screen stays loading forever. If the data does not arrive, the app says so and lets you try again.

The app is reorganised: Today, Calendar and Settings live at the bottom, there is a calendar with three views to review how the treatment is going, and a counter tells you what the other person marked while you were away.

• New Navigation bar at the bottom. Today, Calendar and Settings are now always one tap away, in the area your thumb reaches. The calendar used to live behind a small button in the top right, next to the language and theme toggles.
• New Calendar with three views. Agenda to go through day by day, Week as a heat map to see at a glance whether the week is going well, and Day with the timeline and the current hour marked. It is the review screen: the one you open when the vet asks whether the treatment was followed.
• New Unseen updates. A counter shows how many doses the other person marked while you were away — on the pet, on the treatment and on the Today tab. A notification warns you at the time and is gone; this is the record of what you still have to see. It clears when you open the treatment.
• New Every pet with its own face. When creating or editing one you can choose its icon and background colour. The avatar used to come from the type, so two dogs were two identical circles.
• New Group medications. The medication catalogue has its own form, with a colour to tell them apart at a glance, and they are now archived rather than deleted: dose history keeps their name. The form also opens as a sheet from the treatment, and the medication is left selected without having to look for it.
• New Adherence over the last 7 days. Each pet's page shows a chart of how many doses were given against how many were scheduled.
• New Snooze a reminder for 15 minutes. Straight from the notification, without opening the app. The only way out of an ill-timed alert used to be ignoring it.
• Improved Marking a dose no longer asks. It applies right away and leaves a few seconds to undo if you tapped the wrong row. A confirmation dialog at three in the morning gets tapped without reading.
• Improved Easier to read. We fixed the contrast of the colours that fell below the recommended minimum, grew the small buttons to the minimum size so you hit them first time, and titles no longer fall apart when you enlarge the system text.
• Improved Our own icons, and haptics that mean something. The emoji acting as interface icons became a drawn set, and the phone now buzzes differently when something is recorded and when something fails — useful in the small hours, with the brightness down.

Creating your group is shorter, your name is saved exactly as you type it, the record you share is far more readable, and the app works better with screen readers.

• Fixed The keyboard no longer changes your name. When typing your name or your pet's, your phone's autocorrect could replace it with a suggestion. Name fields now keep exactly what you write.
• Improved Better with screen readers. Text fields now announce what they are and read out the error when something is missing, instead of being announced as a generic field.
• Improved Easier to tap. Text boxes grew to the recommended minimum size, so you hit them on the first try.
• New Anonymous usage measurement. We started recording which step people get stuck on so we can fix it. No pet names, medication names or people's names ever leave your device — only which screens are seen and which actions happen. It's all spelled out in the privacy policy.
• Fixed The notification button is now in your language. If you used the app in English or Portuguese, the reminder arrived translated but the button to mark the dose was still in Spanish.
• Improved The record you share is much shorter. It used to list one line per dose, which made it unreadable on WhatsApp. Now it shows the adherence summary and only the doses that were missed or given late. Full detail is still in the CSV.
• New You can share a single treatment's record, not just the whole pet's. Useful when the appointment is about one treatment in particular.
• Improved Creating your group is one step shorter. We no longer ask for the group name separately: we create it as "your name's group" and you can change it any time in Settings.
• Improved After adding your pet you go straight to its treatment. You used to land back on an empty home screen and have to find the next step.
