Benefits

What changes day to day once you use Laki

This isn't a feature list. It's what actually gets better once you stop coordinating medication by hand.

Zero duplicate doses

The most common cause of accidental overdosing in shared treatments is two people giving the same dose without knowing it. Laki removes that cause at the root: the moment a dose is marked, everyone else's pending reminder cancels itself.

💛

No more arguing over who gave the medicine

"Did you already give him the pill?" stops being a question someone has to ask. The answer is right there on screen, with the exact time and who gave it.

🩺

A history that's actually useful at the vet

When your vet asks whether the treatment was followed as prescribed, you don't have to reconstruct it from memory: the full record is right there, dose by dose.

🏡

Peace of mind when someone else is caring for them

A trip, a long shift at work, or someone else watching your pet: whoever joins the group sees exactly what's due and when, without you having to explain it over text.

💸

Free, no fine print

No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads. Laki doesn't sell your data or your pet's.

📶

Works even with no signal

Reminders are local notifications on the phone, not alerts sent from a server. They still go off with no internet; the only thing that needs a connection is syncing between people.

Practical uses

How Laki gets used day to day

Six concrete moments where the difference shows.

📋

Set up a treatment in under a minute

You enter the medication name, the dose, and how often it's given. Laki calculates every dose through the end date and schedules each reminder, no manually building out alarms.

🔔

Mark a dose without opening the app

When the reminder arrives, tap "Given" right from the notification. The rest of the group sees it instantly and their own reminder cancels itself.

📖

Check the history before an appointment

Before heading to the vet, you open the history and see every dose with its time and who gave it, grouped by medication. Nothing to reconstruct from memory in the waiting room.

🔳

Add someone to the group with a QR code

A relative, a neighbor, or whoever is watching your pet while you travel scans the code and joins the group. They see the active treatment and can mark doses like any other member.

🎚️

Tune how insistent each reminder is

The antibiotic that can't slip keeps nudging until you mark it; the optional supplement pings once and stays quiet. Three levels, configurable per medication.

🗓️

See at a glance what's still due today

The calendar brings together every dose for the day, across all pets and active treatments, with filters by pet, treatment, or status.

FAQ

What people usually ask before installing it

Does Laki replace the vet?

No. Laki coordinates the reminders and the log for the doses your vet prescribed; it doesn't diagnose, prescribe, or replace professional judgment. It's a coordination tool for the people caring for the pet, not a medical service.

How is it different from setting an alarm on your phone?

An alarm rings on a single phone and has no idea whether someone else already gave the dose. Laki syncs the reminder across everyone in the group: the moment one person marks a dose as given, everyone else's pending reminder cancels itself. That's what a single alarm can't do.

Does it work if I'm the only one caring for my pet?

Yes. It works just as well as a solo reminder app with a history log. Syncing between people is an extra feature, not a requirement — you can use Laki alone so you don't have to keep track from memory.

Does it replace the notebook or whiteboard on the fridge where we track doses?

That's exactly the problem it solves. A notebook or whiteboard only works if everyone is in the same house and someone remembers to write it down. Laki carries that same record to everyone's phone, updated in real time, no matter where each person is.

Is it only for dogs and cats?

Laki was built with pets in mind, but you choose the patient type when you create the treatment — some people use it for another family member's medication just the same.

Can I run the same treatment for two different pets at once?

Yes. Each treatment is tied to a specific pet, even if the medication and dose are identical for both. The calendar and history show them separately, and you can filter by pet to see only what applies to each one.
